There’s a famous saying that you are the average of the five people that you hang around with the most. Therefore, I’m going to give you five top entrepreneurs that you should be following and paying attention to on social media.
First and foremost, these people are running businesses.
There are a lot of speakers out there that make their money by just talking-the-talk. But believe me when I say that these guys below know how to walk-the-walk, and they do it each and every day.
In no particular order, here are five celebrity entrepreneurs that you should be following.
I always think of Grant Cardone like marmite, people either love him or hate him. He is a full on typical salesman type character.
But regardless of whether you love him or hate him, you should listen to him, and here’s why in Grant’s owns words.
“I work with small companies and Fortune 500 companies to grow sales by finding overlooked opportunities and customizing the sales process to be more effective. Companies like Google, Sprint, Aflac, Toyota, GM, Ford and thousands more. I own and operate four companies that do almost 100m in annual sales, and I’m also a New York Times best-selling author, international speaker, & considered the top sales training and social media expert in the world today.”
Even if you don’t like his style, with a resume like that, you better pay attention because he’s doing something right.Click here to view his books on Amazon
I love watching Gary’s interviews and keynote speeches because they are unlike any other. He says stuff that no one else is saying.
An interviewer will ask a question, and you kinda feel like you know what people are going to say in response. But not Gary. He’ll respond with something that was completely unexpected, and you’ll be thrown back a little bit, but then it’ll click and you’ll get it.
Here’s a snippet from his website
“Just out of college, Gary grew his family wine business from a $3M to a $60M business in just five years. Now, he runs VaynerMedia, one of the world’s hottest digital agencies. Along the way, Gary became a prolific angel investor and venture capitalist, investing in companies including Snapchat, Facebook, Twitter, Uber and Venmo and co-founding the VaynerRSE fund.”
Out of all of the five entrepreneurs on my list, Gary is one that I am most obsessed with, for no other reason than I just ‘get’ him, if you know what I mean.Click here to view his books on Amazon
Ryan is a not in the spotlight on social media as much as the other entrepreneurs on my list – he doesn’t even have a website where I can steal his autobiography from along with a few words.
But, if you do any marketing or business online, then you should be sticking to Ryan Deiss like three-day-old pasta bake.
He’s best known for his role as Co-Founder and CEO of Digital Marketer – the holy grail for anyone with a website.
Ryan is a highly sought-after speaker, author and consultant whose work has impacted over 200,000 businesses in 68 countries.
I can’t find a snazzy intro video for Ryan personally, but here is an introduction to one of his company’s. (Pssst, Ryan is the dark haired guy that pops up first)Click here to view his books on Amazon
If you’ve not heard of Tony Robbins, you seriously must have been living under a rock for your whole life. This man is a legend.
Let me just repeat that again …LEGEND!
Often, people mistake Tony for a motivation speaker. He’s not, the next guy on my list is a motivational speaker, Tony is more of a life coach – or as they put on his website, the national #1 life and business strategist.
Tony is mind-blowingly successful in many ways. So, to make it easier for myself, I’m just going to bullet point a few of his successes.
- Author of 5 internationally bestselling books
- Created the #1 personal and professional development programme of all time
- More than 4 million people have attended his seminars
- Empowered more than 50 million people, across 100 countries, through his audio and video training programmes
- Has more than a dozen privately held companies that total sales exceed $5 billion per year
- Every day, he provides fresh water to more than 100,000 people in India
- Each year he feeds 4 million people in 56 countries
- He personally provided 59 million meals to people in the USA, and through his partnership with Feeding America, he match funded to help feed 100 million in 2015 alone.
I’ve said it twice, but I’ll say it again – LEGEND.
Here is an old video (but still very relevant to this day) of Tony giving a TED talk about why we do what we do.Click here to view his books on Amazon
If you need some motivation, Eric Thomas is your guy.
He doesn’t just spout the words of ‘work hard and you’ll be successful’ while being born with a silver spoon in his mouth. Eric spent two years in the early part of his youth homeless on the streets of Detroit, sleeping in abandon buildings and eating out of bins. He knows what it is like at the bottom, and he knows what it takes to get to the top.
He’s famous for this speech which went viral and has been viewed almost 2millions times.
Since then he has worked with dozens of reputable organisations and Fortune 500 companies including Nike, Under Armour, AT&T and UPS. He has consulted for major universities and sports teams within the NBA, NFL, MLB and MLS – Lebron James even credited him as part of his inspiration in winning the 2012 NBA Championships!
If you want to get a piece of this inspiration, he does a range of mix tapes that are available to download free from his website.Click here to view his books on Amazon
All of the above entrepreneurs give away valuable content each and every day for free, all you need to do is pay attention.
Depending on your location, one of the hardest things to do can be to get around the right people. Take me for example; I live in a tiny country village in the north of England where most people are farmers or work in agriculture. But by having real entrepreneurs at the top of my social feed every day, providing me with free advice that can only help steer me in the right direction.
…oh and I’d love to know of any other entrepreneurs that you follow. I’ve got a few others on my list.
